Nadra Introduction

National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
NICOP is an official identification document for Pakistani Citizens working / living abroad. NICOP can be produced for personal identification in place of Computerized NIC (CNIC) within Pakistan and abroad. The card is supposed to be produced at domestic or international entry or exit terminals. National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) ordinance envisages issuance of NICOP to Pakistani workers, emigrants, citizens, or Pakistanis holding dual nationality, having been registered under the NADRA Ordinance.

  • Right to open and operate bank accounts in Pakistan.
  • Protection of rights that all Pakistanis enjoy
  • Full recognition as a regular Pakistani citizen
  • Open bank account in Pakistan
  • Apply for Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Substitute for the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Proof of Pakistan citizenship
  • Consider only USA National 
  • Unlimited Visa free entry into Pakistan on foreign passport.
  • Indefinite stay in Pakistan with exemption from reporting to police or foreigner's registration officers, etc.

Who can Apply
  • Valid/legitimate citizens of Pakistan and their childrens.
  • Pakistan origin USA Nationals who has surrendered their Pakistani Citizenship (Renunciation certificate required).
  • Foreign spouse of CNIC/NICOP holder

WITH THE ADVENT OF ONLINE PROCESSING OF PAKISTANI IDENTITY CARDS, MANUAL BOOKING OF NICOP AND POC IS BEING STOPPED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT BY THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF PAKISTAN, NEW YORK. NO NEW APPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED
